Plastisol is a heavy-duty, thermoplastic screen-printing ink widely utilized in the garment decoration industry for printing graphic designs onto t-shirts and fleece. Chemically, it is a 100% solid formulation consisting of fine, microscopic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin particles completely suspended in a liquid plasticizer matrix, accompanied by pigments and stabilizers. Unlike traditional water-based inks, plastisol contains absolutely zero volatile solvents or water, meaning it will never dry or evaporate on the printing screens at room temperature.

To transition from a liquid paste into a durable solid film, the printed garment must pass through a curing oven heated to approximately 160°C. At this specific temperature, the PVC resin particles absorb the surrounding plasticizer and swell, fusing together into a highly cohesive, rubbery, and completely opaque plastic layer that sits on top of the fabric fibers, providing exceptional wash durability and color opacity.
